21/22 Miniroos Super League EOI

Come and be part of the Avondale family and join one of our Miniroos teams for the upcoming Super League starting November 2021!

** WHAT IS THE JNR SUPER LEAGUE **
The Jnr Super League has been designed and developed by leading NPL clubs to establish an elite pathway program and competition for POST and PRE season football for elite clubs, teams and players.
As a club we are working hard behind the scenes to develop additional pathways for our miniroos talent to progress. As a founding member of the Jnr Super League Club,
we are able to provide selected players the ability to partake in year-round competitive football against the top clubs in Victoria at the highest level to help in our quest of developing our future NPL and Senior Footballers.
The Jnr Super League does not replace the regular winter season. This program is additional and designed for those who are looking to take their football to the next level between U8 and U12.
The Jnr Super League is based on a “Best v Best” competition that is only available to Miniroos of selected NPL clubs. This is a very similar structure to what we have been seeing with private academies in the Premier Academies League.
The main point of difference being that the Jnr Super League runs on the same structure as Football Victoria’s set guidelines. Team size and formats are as per Football Victoria, with all games to be 2 × 20min halves.
All matches will be refereed by Football Victoria.
The Jnr Super League has been set up to keep our talented players within our own structures and provide an additional pathway through training and games in summer when previously there were no competitions.
The 2021/22 Jnr Super League will be run as both a POST and PRE season competition and will see one team in the following age groups compete:
U8 (2013 born)
U9 (2012 born)
U10 (2011 born)
U11 (2010 born)
U12 (2009 born)

** WHAT ARE THE DATES OF COMPETITION AND HOW WILL IT WORK? ** (Pending COVID Restrictions)
The post season competition for 2021 (Block 1) will kick off mid November. There will be 9 rounds played with each team playing 2 rounds on each game day. Total of 18 rounds of football.
Predominately a Saturday competition, Block 1 also consists of 2 double headers weekends so games both on Saturday and Sunday.
Each club will host a gala day where all participating clubs will attend and play 2 matches on each day across all age groups.
The Jnr Super League is a competition with points and ladders. There will be a winner by age group and also a club winner. The winning club is the one that scores the highest points across all age groups.
** WHICH TEAMS AND PLAYERS WILL PARTICIPATE? **
Selection into the Junior Super League will be via a trial process. Pending the easing of government restrictions, we aim to be conducting selection trials at the start to mid October.
Selection will be completed by each age group’s selected coach and the club’s Junior Technical Director.
** TRAINING? **
Selected squads will commence training and continue throughout the summer period.
Training for the Jnr Super League Pre-season competition (Block 2 – 2022) will then re commence mid to late January and replace pre-season competitions.
** FEES ** Due to Covid cutting short the 2021 season the club will cover all costs for current Avondale FC players who wish to participate.
Any new players selected from outside of the club will pay $500 for the Super League participation for two periods of training blocks pre and post New Year.
Please note that fees fund coaching costs, competition entry fees, administration fees, referee costs, equipment costs and additional ground hire fees. New players will also recieve a Home and Away Avondale top for Matchdays.
In summary each block will cover approximately 30-32 training sessions and 18 competitive matches with a total of 50 odd combined sessions which equals approx. $12 per session.
This is an exciting opportunity for our club and of course our young emerging players and we look forward to being part of a very successful inaugural Jnr Super League in 2021 and beyond.
