Avondale FC Reflects on a Proud Inaugural Australian Championship Season
Avondale FC’s inaugural Australian Championship season has drawn to a close earlier than we had hoped, but the pride we hold in what we achieved is immense. From the rigorous application process to our acceptance as one of the competition’s foundation clubs, this season marks another significant milestone in the growth of our club.

Reaching the quarter finals in our first national campaign is an accomplishment everyone at Avondale can be proud of. While our hopes of lifting the trophy were cut short, the squad showed remarkable consistency and resilience, suffering just one loss across 7 games.
This season also took us across the country, creating moments and experiences that will stay with the club for years to come. Our interstate travels brought the group even closer together, and the Championship provided invaluable opportunities for our young players to step onto the national stage. It’s an experience that will shape their development for seasons ahead.
A huge thank you goes to our operations team for their tireless work behind the scenes, ensuring our involvement in this new competition ran seamlessly. Our gratitude also extends to our coaching staff, playing group, and everyone who contributed throughout the season.

We sincerely thank our sponsors for their unwavering support across the Championship, standing with us in this historic first year. Thank you to our home and travelling supporters, whose backing meant everything to the players and staff during this long campaign.
As our senior men take a well-earned break, attention will soon shift to preparations for a massive 2026 season, not only for the men, but also for our recently promoted NPL Women and Junior squads.
The foundation has been laid, and we are ready to build on everything established in our first Australian Championship season.
