Our senior women’s team continued their hot form after the COVID-enforced break with a brilliant 4-1 win over North Melbourne Athletic on Sunday.

Catherine Sikic starred for Avondale, netting three goals inside 60 minutes to put the Avengers in a commanding position.

It looked like North Melbourne might have found an avenue back into the game when they scored in the 70th minute, but Isabella Vartuli put the result beyond doubt with her late goal to clinch the three points for the Avengers.

The week before Avondale were far too good for Point Cook, running out 13-0 winners at Avenger Park.

Sheridan Sikic and Catherine Sikic both scored four goals each, while Sarah Lia, Nyankor Joseph, Beatrice Okello, Rachael Grbac and Eleni Zorbas all also found the back of the net.
