INSIDE AVONDALE – Issue 02.
OUR COMMUNITY
Following the successful acquisition of our government grant, we have welcomed two youth coaches to support the delivery of our weekly community program at Wingate Community Centre.
Through our matchday can and bottle recycling initiative, we have also been able to generate income for families via the government recycling scheme.
We are now excited to expand our reach into local schools, delivering low to no cost football programs that support all abilities and provide opportunities for youth at risk.
Our ball boys continue to represent the club with dedication and pride.

SPORTS SCIENCE
Message From John Kobiela – Head of High Performance
John has developed a series of infographics on cramping to support our athletes, parents, and staff, which are included in this edition for reference.
At this stage of the season, most players are well adapted to their training loads, both through Avondale sessions and external commitments such as school and other activities. Within the Junior NPL Boys program, training loads have increased over the past six weeks, contributing to a reduction in injuries and improved performance.
If cramping continues to be an issue, it is worth reviewing key areas such as nutrition, the use of compression garments, and overall training intensity. In many cases, this may indicate that players are not fuelling adequately or are not yet meeting the physical demands required to support consistent weekly load.

U20’s & U23’s
Words from Jonatan Germano – Senior Men’s Head Coach
Congratulations to the young players who have had the opportunity to step into a senior team environment, being named on a team sheet for the first time in their careers.
Both players have been at the club for over three years and were integrated into preseason matches with the senior squad. This is a strong reflection of the pathway being built within the club and a great achievement for everyone involved in their development.
